Hi, I brought too many books, please help.

This is an accountability post. I have been buying books on holidays and bad mental health days and while that was all fun and dandy I am now at the point where the size of my tbr is overwhelming me. I have also happen to only read new books and library books this past month, so there's no dent in the stack either! This has got to end, so I will now put myself on a book buying band until I've at least read half of these books.

If you have read and liked any of the listed books, please hype me up to read them! I'll come back and update you on the state of the stacks in the new year, let's hope the holidays will give me some time to read.

Buying books is so sadly addictive 🥲 Fighting in your quest to get this list shorter!!!

And Then There Were None - Agatha Christie
This is such a neat murder mystery, structurally really clever. It is very racist and dated in those ways so cw for that, but as an example of the genre it's so interesting.

Exhalation - Ted Chiang
I just think he's great, a master of the form.

I read the first volume of paper girls and it was a good time! I need to go back and read the rest sometime.

Record of a spaceborn few was a good time! I’ve never come away from a Becky Chambers book thinking anything less than “oh I enjoyed that!”

also lifelong percy jackson fan here to say that you should ABSOLUTELY read pjo….the books are super breezy partially bc they’re humorous and also bc they were written for middle schoolers lol but they’re REALLY GOOD I PROMISE

Deeply enjoyed This Poison Heart! It's a quick read and a lot of fun. Note that it's the first in a duology, so it may result in wanting to acquire another book.

And I think I have shared some thoughts on Natural Beauty but they mostly sum up to AUGHHH ARGH EEK!!!!! (positive? i think??)

I find that Agatha Christie is a good way for me to ease out of a reading slump or into a reading binge. I liked And There Were None, it's breezy and page-turning and satisfying at the end.

I have been planning to read Idol Burning, so I look forward to discussing that with you too!

The Princess and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich - Deya Muniz- this is extremely cute and also a very fast read, I enjoyed it

The Starless Sea - Erin Morgenstern- I was unfortunately quite disappointed by this book, maybe don't start with this one...

record of a space born few - Becky Chambers - this is my favorite Chambers book to date, a quite short, I thought it was great (there's also a great audiobook version)
